RE:Present is a new initiative, funded by Birmingham City Council and Arts Council England, which seeks to support the development of cultural leaders from diverse backgrounds so that the cultural ecology of the city better reflects its changing demographic.   Initially a pilot programme, we hope to be able to build this work into a variety of development support, opportunities and projects for anyone seeking to make cultural work in the city.

RE:Present seeks to address the wider ecology of cultural leadership in Birmingham by developing a cohesive programme including:

-‐ Skills development including digital leadership

-‐ Brokered Mentoring/ Orientation in the marketplace

-‐ Networks – how to make, use and leverage off them

-‐ Presentation, communication and meeting skills

-‐ Confidence

-‐ Peer learning opportunities

The programme will encompass the wide range of skills needed to be a 21st century leader.  The programme is delivered by Creative Shift (the consultancy wing of Birmingham Hippodrome) and arts consultant Lara Ratnaraja.  This innovative cultural leadership development programme will give emergent and established cultural leaders from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to:
